The Person Behind This Portfolio

My name is Angelo Bergado.

During my school days, I used the name Angelo Bergado Trovela. Trovela is my father’s surname, and for a long time, that was the name I used in school and in many parts of my life.

But before I graduated college, I found out that I could not officially use my father’s surname. Because of that, I now use Angelo Bergado as my legal name.

Right now, my name is already in a legal process so I can change it properly. It is one of those personal things that sounds simple from the outside, but actually has a long story behind it.

I’m based in the Philippines, and I currently work as a Full Stack Engineer.

I started accepting project commissions around 2023.

At that time, I was still studying, and I used the money I earned from small projects to support my financial needs and help sustain my college expenses.

It was not always easy. I had to learn things while doing actual work, make mistakes, fix them, and figure things out even when I was not fully confident yet.

But those small projects helped me grow. They taught me how to talk to clients, handle deadlines, solve real problems, and understand that building software is not just about writing code. It is also about making something useful for people.

My first job was at VST ECS Phils., Inc., where I worked as a Web Developer from July 2024 to December 2025.

That was where I experienced working in a real company setup. I learned more about web development, internal systems, business requirements, and how projects move from idea to actual use.

Now, I’m working as a Full Stack Engineer at NuWorks Interactive Labs, Inc., starting from January 2026 to present, as of the time I’m writing this.

In my current role, I work on both frontend and backend parts of web applications. I enjoy seeing how the pieces connect together, from the user interface to the database, APIs, deployment, and all the small details that usually break when no one is looking.

I do not claim to know everything deeply. That would be a lie, and the tech industry already has enough of those.

But I know how to learn, build, debug, and keep improving. That matters more to me.

Right now, I’m starting to learn more about:

• FastAPI
• CI/CD
• Docker
• Server management
• Deploying projects from local development to a live server

I want to understand more about how applications are actually shipped and maintained after development.

Before, I mostly focused on building the application itself. Now, I also want to improve on the deployment side, because a project is not really finished just because it runs on your machine.

Everyone says “it works on my machine” like that is some kind of achievement. It is not. It is just the first trap.

I made this blog to share parts of my journey, what I’m learning, and some of the things I experience as a developer.

This is not meant to be a perfect story. I am still learning. I still make mistakes. I still get stuck on simple bugs longer than I want to admit.

But I think that is part of growing.

Sometimes, writing things down also helps me understand them better. Maybe someone else will find it useful too.

Outside the tech world, I’m just a simple person.

I like being alone most of the time. I enjoy quiet days, watching anime, random movies, and series. I can spend the whole day watching anime if I have nothing important to do.

I know it might sound a little weird, but I really like isekai anime. There is something fun about watching someone get thrown into another world and somehow survive with strange powers, questionable logic, and a plot that should not work but still does.

I also enjoy random movie series, even the ones that are not that great. Sometimes I just want to watch something and turn my brain off for a while.

At the end of the day, I’m just someone trying to build a better life, learn more, and keep moving forward.

I’m not the best developer.

I’m not the smartest person in the room.

But I’m someone who keeps learning, keeps building, and keeps trying.

And for now, that is enough.
