Fresh Pause

A Mentos Philippines microsite. People who tap Learn more on a Spotify ad land here, get a spin credit, and play a spin-the-wheel for Spotify Premium, Mentos products, and other prizes.

The problem

The Spotify ads needed a place to send people after they clicked Learn more. There was no campaign site that could give a spin credit, let them play, and show what they could win. Without that, the ad ended in a dead click, and prizes like Spotify Premium and Mentos products had no fair way to be given out. Assets, prize counts, and winners also had no one place to update, so a change meant waiting on a deploy or a spreadsheet.

The solution

A microsite for Mentos Philippines. A visitor from the Spotify ad arrives, receives a spin credit, and plays the wheel. They can win Spotify Premium for 1, 3, or 6 months, Mentos products, and more. An admin CMS lets the team update all microsite assets, change prize quantities, and view winners without shipping a new build for every change.

What I learned

How to set up the server, run cron jobs, and deploy the project on DigitalOcean. I also learned to use a modular architecture so the spin flow, prizes, API, and CMS stayed in separate parts instead of one file. Prize quantities had to live in the CMS, or the wheel and the stock would drift.
